Most organisations use contractors in some form, cleaning maintenance etc.  It is a common misconception that when a contractor works on your premises you have no management control over their activities, this is not true. The health and safety of all your workforce is very important, and contractors are no exception. If a contractor is injured at your workplace, there are serious implications for the organisations involved, which could include hefty fines and criminal law suits.
