Course Description

Course Code : HSAF2210

Under the umbrella of The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, The Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 place a legal responsibility on employers to ensure that all employees are properly trained in the use of work equipment. The use of improper procedures and inappropriate equipment when slinging and lifting and using gantry cranes is potentially lethal and evidence suggests that accidents do occur through inexperience and lack of training.
The course has been developed to introduce delegates to the requirements of relevant current legislation, safe selection and use of slinging equipment and the safe use of gantry cranes.
Who should attend:
Anyone who through the course of their normal duties may be required to use lifting equipment, operate gantry cranes, control gantry cranes using hand signals, those who supervise such operations.
